Are You Understanding The Process That The Potter Goes Through In Order To Make A Vessel Of Beauty?

Understand today that you are the clay and God is the Potter.    When we look at our lives and as we try to figure out what is happening in our lives, we have to begin to understand that we are in the process of change.    We can't just take a piece of clay and use it as a vessel.   The clay has to be shaped and formed into a vessel of use.    That's how we are.   We have to be shaped and formed by God into a vessel that He can use.

Think about the process of pottery.   The clay is first "centered" on the potter's wheel.   That's us.   We have to first of all become centered on God and the things of God.   Secondly the clay is pressed downward in order to form the base of the vessel.    Do you feel as though you are being pressed down?   That is because your foundation has be sure.   It has to be level.   If a vessel is made and the foundation is not level ... it is subject to fall over.   The next step the potter does after the base has been established is he pulls the clay upward in order to form the walls of the vessel.   Building it.    That is what God does with us ... once our foundation is sure ... He begins the process of pulling us up.   Understand the purpose of a "wall" is to separate and to provide a means of protection.    So if you feel as though you are becoming separated as God builds you up ... understand at that point you can't do everything you used to and know that God is building you into a beautiful vessel.   Then of course after the vessel has been molded ... there is the fire.    The test and the trial by fire will always come in order to harden you and make you strong.    Understand ... if you never go through the fire ... the walls that God has formed ... what He has shaped your life to be ... can never stand because it is the fire that causes you to be a vessel that is ready for the Master's use.

How hard is it for you to quit?   Sometimes it seems like we have it backwards.   We tend to quit on the things God is telling us to do that...
