What Are You Risking and Are You Counting The Cost?

Is it worth losing it all?   The Bible says count up the cost and we have to decide whether or not our disobedience is worth losing it all.   We have to decide if we want the things of the world or the things of God.  We have to decide whether we will stand strong or submit to the desires of our flesh.    We have to make the choice.    Sometimes the choice is between family and friends.  Sometimes it’s between work or home.  No matter what the choice is, the decision has to be made as to whether you will follow your flesh or follow the Word and Spirit of God.

Understand, you have to make the decision to follow what is right or to pursue what is wrong.   Before you follow what you know is wrong, you need to begin to ask yourself if it is worth the risk of losing it all.   Whether it be family, friends, job, or your relationship with God … we need to understand that every time we pursue what we know is not of God, we are sacrificing the blessings that God has given us.     On the other hand, when we sacrifice ourselves (our flesh), we position ourselves for greater blessings.   It’s time to walk in obedience to the Word you know and to stop putting yourself into a place where you risk losing it all.

Are You Allowing God's Word To Develop In You So That His Blessings Can Break Forth In Your Life?

Change is not always going to be easy.   Transitioning from one phase to another can sometimes be very difficult.    But change is a part of development.   When something develops, it begins to erupt, break forth, and to mature.    With maturity comes the ability to "stand still".   Think about a little child.   It is very difficult to get a toddler to be still.  They want to run and to do any and everything.   They don't want to sit still and they definitely don't want to stand still.   But as they mature and grow, they build up their stamina and are more willing, ready, and able to stand still.

We are like the toddler child when we first get saved.   We want to run and do everything.   We even try to help God out.   We tend to lose focus at times and it is easy for us to fall because we haven't come to the place of stillness.    As we grow in God's Word, we have to get to a point where we learn how to be still and let God be God.    As we go through difficulties and transitions in life, we have to be able to stand on God's Word and believe that His Word is true.    We have to understand the development cycle of God.   We have to let our trials teach us more about who God is and what God will do.   Instead of worrying and wondering, we have to start praising and expecting.   Start praising God for who He is and start expecting Him to work out your situation.  Remember as something develops, it begins to erupt, break forth, and to mature.   We have to allow God's Word to develop in us so that it can break forth and show forth God's blessings in our lives.

Are You Believing, Trusting, and Waiting On God or Are You Trying To Move Forward On Your Own?

What if the people you love don't believe you?  What if they are not willing to wait on you?   How does that make you feel?   When you love someone and have given your best for them, how do you feel when they fail to believe in you?   How do you feel when they move forward without you and fail to wait on you?

Understand, God gave His best for You.   He sacrificed His Son on the cross so that you could live.    It is His desire for you to have faith in Him.   He wants you to believe His Word.   He wants you to wait on Him.   Are you willing to wait?   Do you believe what He has said in His Word and trust that He will take care of you?    Or are you going to move forward on your own?

God has given us the choice.  We can choose to believe and wait or we can choose not to believe and move forward on our own.   Understand God loves you and He only wants what is best for you.   He wants you to be successful in every area of your life.   He wants to lead you, guide you, and to direct you but you have to be willing to trust Him, believe Him, and wait on Him.

Is Your Focus On Who God Is or What You Have Done? When You Focus on Who God Is and His Forgiveness, You Can Then Forgive Yourself ...

Are you focused on who God is or are you still stuck on what you have done?  There are many of us who are not walking in the fullness of God's Word because we are still stuck in our past.   We can't truly receive the forgiveness of God because we haven't truly forgiven ourselves for the mistakes we have made in our past.    It's time to get past your past.    The word past means to be gone by in time and no longer existing.    When something exists, it means it remains alive.   It means it has pulled through and is still holding on.

It's time to let go of your past and it's time to allow it to die so that it will no longer have an affect on your future.   It's time to cross the threshold of new life so that you can not only experience the work of the cross, but you need to live in the benefits that came with price that Jesus paid for your life.   One of those benefits is forgiveness.   It's time to focus on who God is and to know that He has forgiven you. When you accept the fact that God has forgiven you, then, you can truly forgive yourself and move forward with Him.

Are You Running To God So That You Can Become Established On The Word of God?

Which way are you running?  Are you running "to" God or "to" the desires of your flesh?   When you run, it's one way or the other.   Either you seek Him to serve Him or you let go of Him to fulfill your own desires.    To run means to never have both feet on the ground at the same time.   So when you are running, you are never rooted or grounded.   To be rooted means to be established deeply and firmly and to be grounded means to be well balanced.   At some point, you have to stop running and become rooted and grounded.   The Bible tells us to "be still and to know that He is God".

Becoming rooted and grounded positions you.   It brings you to a place of stillness.   A place where the winds of life can't move you.   It brings you to a place of stillness and knowing that no matter what comes up in life or against your life, God is there.   Not only is God there, you have a knowing that He will take care of you.    Stillness brings you to the understanding that God is all powerful and all knowing.   Not only does He know your past and present, He also knows what the future holds.    So as you run to God, become established on the Word of God and stand still and know that He is God.

When Life Hurts, You Have To Cast Your Cares On God

What happens when it hurts?  When the pain is so deep that you can't even decipher where it is all coming from.     When it feels like everything is multiplying and that there is no end.   What do you do then?   Have you learned how to surrender your hurt and your pain to God?   Have you invited Him in to your life and into your situation?

There are times in life when it just hurts.   No matter how hard you try and no matter how hard you try to release the pain, it still hurts.   It is almost as though the hurt has taken over your thoughts and it rules your actions.    The synonyms for hurt include damage, disable, and incapacitate.    What is it that has happened in your life that has left you feeling useless or of little value?   You have to stop allowing situations change your perception to a point where you can't see yourself as God sees you.

When it hurts, you have to do what the Bible said in Matthew and go to God.   If you are heavy laden, God has said that He will give you rest.     You have to learn how to lay your pain at the feet of the Father.    You have to learn how to surrender it all to Him.   God wants us to cast our cares on Him and to come to Him and to rest in Him.   Rest in His Word and know that His promises are true.

Will You Choose To Trust God and To Surrender All?

God knows.   He knows everything that you have been through and everything that you are going through.   He knows when you have stood in faith and when you have lacked faith.   He knows when you hurt and when you are filled with extreme joy.   He knows your needs, your wants, and your desires.    To know means to possess knowledge, information, and understanding.   So not only does He have the knowledge of everything about you, He understands you better than anyone else ever could.   God knows.

Now that you know that God knows, it's time for you to trust Him.   It's time for you to surrender to Him.   Understand, God's knows more about you than you know about yourself.   He knows your every thought and every hidden desire.   Have you ever done things in life that you never thought you would do?   God knew that you would do it.    It's time to surrender your life to God instead of trying to manage life on your own.    God is ready, able, and willing to help you.   He just needs you to choose to let Him.   He has given each of us the power to choose whether or not we want to be led by Him.   The choice is yours today.  Will you choose to surrender "all"?   Will you choose to trust and follow Him?   Will you let go and let God?

Understanding That Your Faith Cannot Be Based On Feelings ... It Has To Be Based On Trust

Trusting God is not always easy but it is always the right thing to do.   Sometimes we put our trust in people, places, and things because we can see them.  When we do this, our trust is not a spiritual trust it is a physical trust.   It is not based on faith, it is based on our physical senses.   It is the kind of trust that says, as long as I can see you do the right thing, I will trust you.    God wants us to trust Him with a knowing.   Knowing means that you have knowledge, information, and understanding.   God wants you to have knowledge of who He is.   He has given you the information about His traits through His Word.   Not only does He want you to have the knowledge and the information, He wants you also to have an understanding.   To understand means to become aware of the nature and significance of a thing.    Do you truly understand the nature of God?   His character and what makes Him God?

You have to stop putting your trust only in the things you can see, feel, touch, or taste.    You can't trust perception ... how you perceive things to be.   Have you ever eaten something thinking it was one thing and it turned out be be another.   You perceived it one way and yet it turned out to be something else.   You have to trust truth ... how God truly is.   When you can't see God, you have to know and trust that He is there based on His Word that says that He will never leave you nor forsake you.   When you can't feel Him, you have to know and trust that He is there based on the fact that He said He is a refuge for the oppressed and a stronghold in times of trouble.   When you are sick in your body, you have to know and trust that He said in His Word that He is the Lord God that heals.   When you have needs in your life, you have to trust His Word that says that He knows the things you have need of and that He is faithful and just to provide.   You may not be able to see Him, but He has given you assurance through His Word that He is there.   Faith cannot be based on feelings, it has to be based on truth and trust.

It's Time To Move Forward ... Are You Ready?

You can't keep looking back.   You can't keeping going back.   What God has for you is in front of you.   Understand the future is before you and not behind you.   When you keep looking back, you are living in the past and not looking forward to the future.   It's time to move ahead.

The thing about moving ahead is that it is not always easy.    It's easier said than done.  We tend to gravitate to what is known and steer away from the unknown.   We get comfortable in what we know, even if we know it is not what is best for us.   But understand, God is ready to do a new thing in you.   Isaiah 43:19 says,
"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
He wants you to experience the newness of your renewed life in Him.    He wants the old things within you and around you to pass away.  2 Corinthians 5:17 says,
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
The question is, are you ready to look "forward" to what God has prepared for you and to stop looking and living in the past?

What Do You Do When You Are Not Sure What To Do?

In the midst of all the trials that come with life, what do you do when you don’t know what to do?   Do you quit?   Do you give in?   Do you...
