Do You Have Selective Hearing When It Comes To What God Is Saying?

Do you have an ear to hear?   Or do you have selective listening?   God wants us to hear what He is saying.    God is sending forth his word.  The question is are we listening to what He is saying or are we just waiting for something we want to hear?  Something that is more in line and conducive to our flesh.

We have to learn how to receive and accept the fullness of God's word.   Remembering that God said His word is good for reproof and for edification.   The word reproof means correction and rebuke.   Correction will not always feel good ... but how it feels does not determine whether or not it is what we need.   When we correct our children, we do it in an effort to teach them for future reference.   So it is with God.   He is teaching us so that we will know how to handle our situations in the future.   It is not to hurt us or to hinder us.  It is to teach us His ways.    God's correction is always in alignment with His word.    For He and His word are one.

Isaiah 50:4
The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

Jeremiah 25:4
And the Lord hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
