Why Do You Do What You Do? You Have To Know That God Placed You Here With A Purpose On Purpose.

What is it all about for you?   Why do you do what you do?   Do you do it to be noticed?   Do you do it because it makes you feel good?   Do you do it because you want to?   Do you do it because God said to?   Is your life all about you or are you living your life so that God can be seen through you?

It is easy to get caught up in life in the way the world is doing things.   People connect on social media because that is what the world is doing.  People watch certain television shows because that is what the world is doing.    People eat certain foods and go certain places because that is what everyone else is doing.    We have to understand that God made us all as individuals and when this life is over, we will all go before Him individually.

It's time we stop and think about what we are doing and why we are doing it.   We need to make sure our motives are right, just, and pure.   We need to make sure that our words are words that will bring hope and encouragement to others.   There will be times when we have to step outside of our own pain in order to help someone else get through their painful situation.

We have to always remember that our lives are not just about us.   God set us in place for a reason.  The things we have been through in our lives are now the testimonies that God will use to help someone else get through.

Know that God placed you here with a purpose on purpose.   He has a plan for your life.   Stay focused on Him so that He can be seen in and through your life.

Jeremiah 29:11

King James Version (KJV)

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Are You Taking Time To Encourage Yourself By Speaking Life To Your Life?

What are you walking in?   Are you walking in the chains of perception that others have placed on your life?   People will try to tell you who you are, what you can and cannot do, and what they think of you?   Are you letting someone else's opinion of who they think you are dictate how you see and perceive yourself?   Are you being bound by their words or are you resting and remaining in God's Word and what He has said about you?

We have to know who we are in Christ.   We have to know who God created us to be.   We have to let God's Word be the final authority in our lives.    If we don't, we will be constantly torn and tormented by other people's opinions of who we are and what they feel we can do.

Did you get up this morning thanking God for who He is in your life?   Make sure you not only thank Him for who He is but thank Him for who He created you to be.   Talk to yourself.   The Bible says that David encouraged himself in the Lord.   Take time to encourage yourself.   Tell yourself that you are who God says you are and that you can do everything that He created you to do.    Speak to the things that are showing up in your life that are not in line with God's Word and His Will for you.   Tell lack to go.   Tell sickness to go.   Tell anger and strife to go.   If a robber showed up at your door and you knew their purpose was to get in your house and to steal everything that is of value to you, would you let them in?    NO!   So why are you letting things come into your life and steal from you your joy, your peace, your health, and your strength.   Do what you can to put them out by speaking life over your life and trust God to honor His Word in your situation.

Proverbs 18:21

King James Version (KJV)

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Are You Caught Up In The Busyness Of Life or Are You Taking Time To Spend With God and Walking In The Expectation Of God Performing His Word In Your Life?

Who or what is most important in your life?   Are you giving God what you give man?   Are you getting up to meet with God on time like you get up to get to work on time?   Or are you trying to talk to God in the midst of doing all of the other things that are a part of your daily routine?   For instance, are you talking to Him in the midst of brushing your teeth and putting on your clothes.   Yes, it's okay to talk to Him then but have you taken time to give Him some quality time where you can just commune with Him and rest in Him?

We all get caught up with the busyness of life.   We tend to rush to work and rush to get done all of our other activities in life.   We get so busy that before we know it, the day is over and we lay down just to get back up again to do the same routine.    However, we all need to get to a place where we make time for God.    We have to begin to set aside quiet time where we meditate on who He is, talk to Him in prayer, and wait on Him to talk to us and to give us peace concerning the situations we are encountering in life.

We have to get to a place where we are not to busy for God.   After all, He is never to busy for us.    His Word says that He is watching over His Word to perform it in our lives.   God wants us to walk in the expectation of Him performing His Word in our lives.   If we never read His Word, pray His Word, and trust His Word, how can He perform His Word?

Jeremiah 1:12

New International Version (NIV)

12 The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching[a] to see that my word is fulfilled.”

Are You Withdrawing From Your Proper Position and Allowing The Devil To Have A Foothold In Your Life?

Are you giving room for the enemy?   To give room means to withdraw; to leave or provide space unoccupied for others to pass or to be seated.  Are you withdrawing from your proper position with God and allowing the enemy to take a seat in your thoughts, your home, and your life?

The Bible tells us to be sober and to be vigilant because our adversary the devil is seeking whom he may devour.   It tells us not to give the enemy a foothold.   A foothold is a secure position from which further progress may be made.  It is the enemy's desire to make progress in your life to the point where he takes away your joy,  your strength, and your peace.   Are you willing to give him room so that he can take advantage of you in life.

God is a good God.  He is a faithful, just, and forgiving God.   He watches over us, leads us, and provides for us.   It is His desire for us to experience His goodness, grace, love, and mercy in every part of our lives but we have to want Him "more".   We have to want Him more than we desire the things that appeal to our flesh.   We have to stay close to Him, learn of Him, and magnify Him in all that we do and say.   We have to stop catering to our flesh and opening up doors in our lives where the enemy is able to have a foothold where he is able to make progress and take over our lives.

Everything we do in life is a matter of choice.   Choose today to live your life in the security of God's Word.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

EPHESIANS 4:27-30

27 Neither give place to the devil.
28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Are You Allowing Doubt To Interject Your Faith or Are You Backing Up Your Faith With What You Are Saying?

God will, God can, and God shall.   Are these the words in your vocabulary?   Your vocabulary is made up of the words that you use.   It is the words that are coming out of your mouth.   What are you saying?   What are you believing?   What words are you using to solidify what you say you believe?

We have to start backing up our faith with what we are saying.   We think in our hearts and minds that we believe what God has said but we have to start monitoring the words that are coming out of our mouth to back up that belief.

Do you believe your are trusting God and then say that "maybe God won't do it for you"?   Where is the faith in that?   Faith says that You trust that God will do what needs to be done.   Are you speaking words of faith and then at the end saying "but if"?    When we say that God is going to heal us, that needs to be the end of the statement.   We shouldn't add on to that statement by saying, "God is going to heal us but if he doesn't".   "But" is a word of cancellation.   It cancels out or adds a realm of possibility that should not be there when you are walking in faith.   It says that it is possible that God may not or possibly can not do what He has promised He will do.

If you are going to be in faith, SPEAK WORDS THAT LINE UP WITH YOUR FAITH.   Don't allow doubt to interfere with what you say that you are believing God for.  Don't interject your faith with the word "but".   To interject means to throw something in-between something else.   In other words, don't allow the word but to throw doubt in-between what you say you are believing God for.

Are You Standing On The Strength and Ability Of God or Are You Trying To Do Things On Your Own?

Being still is never easy.   Standing still and being in one place is one of the hardest things to do.   Have you ever just tried to stand still in one place for a long period of time?   Isn't it funny how you still get tired even though you are not moving around?   Your legs get weary and your body gets faint and eventually you move.   You move out of that position or should I say stance that you were trying to stay in.

That's how we do in life.   We do our best to be still and to wait on God but after a period of time, if we don't see the results "we want", we move out of place.   The Bible tells us not to get weary in well doing.  It tells us to be still and to know that God is God.   It tells us not to faint and not to give up.

We have to start building up our stamina for the stance we are taking in life with God.   Our stamina is our strength, perseverance, and endurance.    We can only do that when we understand that it is God that gives us strength.   He enables us to persevere and to endure under hardship.   Until we learn how to give things in our lives over to God, we will never be able to endure and obtain the promise by standing still and waiting on God.  We have to know that it is only because of God that we have the strength and the ability to do anything in life.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Psalm 46:10

King James Version (KJV)

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Are You Allowing Your Past Experience Of God's Love and Divine Intervention To Solidify Your Faith, Hope, and Trust In Him

What do you do when things don't work out like you expected them to?   What do you do when people don't act the way you wanted them to?   Do you get mad?   Do you get offended?   Do you give up and quit?   Or do you hold on to what God said and move forward with God despite how things appear to be in the natural?

We have to realize and have faith in the fact that God is all-powerful and all-knowing.   He is faithful and He is just.   We have to remember, God can do any and all things.   He is not limited by our ability but we do limit Him by our faith and our belief.   Isn't it sad that we serve a limitless God and yet we limit Him by our trust and our belief.

God wants us to trust Him.   He wants us to believe that He can and will do what He said He would do.   He wants us to believe Him to the point of waiting.   When we believe God to the point of waiting on Him, it shows Him that our hope, faith, and trust are all in Him.   What we tend to do is get tired in the waiting and we try to figure things out and work things out on our own.   We have to come to the conclusion and settle it in our hearts and minds that we would be nothing and can do nothing without God.   We have to be comfortable in the waiting and the only way to be comfortable while we wait is to have knowledge of who God is and what God can and will do for His children.    Not only should we gain knowledge from God's Word, we should allow our past experiences of God's love and divine intervention in our lives solidify our faith, hope, and trust in Him.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Psalm 27:14

King James Version (KJV)

14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Are You Allowing The Wisdom Of God To Help You To Make The Right Decisions In Life?

What are you doing at the point of decision?   When you are at that place where you have to decide.    The place where you have to choose between right or wrong.   What decisions are you making?   Are you making choices based on what you know to be true or on what others expect you to do?

We have to come to the understanding that God is God all by Himself and what He has said He meant.    He told us to follow Him.   He told us to choose whom we would serve.   He told us that if we are willing and obedient, we shall eat the good of the land.

The thing is, we can have all the information to make a right choice and still choose to do thing wrong.    We can ponder in our thoughts and make up in our mind that we are going to choose God's way and still choose the opposite at the point of decision.   We have to be strong enough to do what we know to be right even when pressure is being applied to our flesh based on our situation.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Joshua 24:15

King James Version (KJV)

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Are You Taking God At His Word or Are You Allowing Your Worries and Doubts To Overtake You?

So often we say that we take God at His Word.   If you are taking God at His Word, you would be truly believing and trusting in what He is saying.    If God says that all things are possible to them that believe, the question is, are your believing?   If He says that we are healed by the stripes of Jesus, the question is are you believing?   It’s all a question of your belief.

We must understand that faith is requirement for our walk with God.   We won’t always see the answer but we MUST ALWAYS believe that God will answer.

Take time today to meditate and rest in God’s Word.   Read it, ponder on it, and rest in it.   Remember, God is not a man that He should lie nor the son of man that He should repent.   What He has said, He will do.   We just have to trust Him to do it.    We must learn how to take God at His Word and wait on His Word to come to pass.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Proverbs 30:5-6

King James Version (KJV)

Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.
Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Do You Believe That God Can and Will Take Care Of You?

Do you believe that God knows?   Do you believe that He knows how you feel?   Do you believe that He cares?   Do you believe that He can and will heal you, strengthen you, provide for you, and protect you?   Do you believe?

We have to understand that before we can receive anything from God, we must first believe.   We must believe that He is a Healer.   We must believe that He will deliver us.   We must believe that He will provide for us.    WE MUST BELIEVE.

John 3:16 tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son and that whosoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life.   So in order for us to have everlasting life, we must first believe!

Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God but in order to come to God we must first believe and we must believe that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

To believe means to be convinced and to accept something as true even when you don't have physical evidence.    Understand, belief is a necessity.   We can choose to walk in fear and doubt or we can choose to trust and believe God and His Word.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Hebrews 11:6

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”

Have You Checked Your Heart's Intent When You Ask Things Of God?

What is it that you are asking God for?   Are you asking Him to help you and to heal you?   Are you asking Him to supply your every need?   Are you asking Him for strength and for power?   Are you asking Him for restoration and for peace?   Whatever it is that you are asking God for, do you truly trust Him to give it to you?

A lot of times we ask God for things amiss.   The word amiss means "in a wrong way".    The Bible says in the book of James that we ask things of God but we ask amiss.   We have to understand that there is a right way and a wrong way to come to God and to ask things of God.    We are not to ask things of God just because we lust after them.    We have to have a right heart and our intentions must be in line with His Word and His will for our lives.

So before we ask anything of God, we should always check our hearts intent.   We need to know what our intention and our purpose is behind what we are asking for.   Is it just for our own glory and satisfaction or is it to glorify God and to satisfy His plan and His purpose in the earth.   To satisfy means to meet the expectations, needs, and desires of someone.   We should be living our lives in a way that meets God's expectations for us and not just to fulfill our lustful desires.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

James 4:3

King James Version (KJV)

Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Are You Basing Your Faith On What You See or On Your Trust, Belief, and Relationship With God?

Are you willing to do whatever God asks of you?   Are you willing to let go of the people, the places, and the things in order to please God?   Are you willing to step out on faith even when you have no idea of how everything is going to work out?   Are you willing to trust God?   Are you willing to believe God?   We say we want to please God and we have to understand in order to please Him, we must be "willing" and "obedient" so that we can eat the good of the land.

There are some things we need to do for the sake of Christ.   There will be times of consecration where we have to separate ourselves from the people, places, and things we have become so accustomed to so that we can truly hear and know what God is telling us to do.    We as people tend to go by not just what we hear but we base our actions on what we see as well.   But understand, we can't see God but He wants us to hear Him and be led by His Spirit on a day to day basis.

Remember, faith is not based on what we see.   We have to base our faith on our trust, belief, and relationship with God.    We have to be still and we have to know that He is God.   We have to trust Him with every aspect of our lives and when we do, we will be sensitive to His leading.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Hebrews 4:7

 King James Version (KJV)

Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

Are You Living Your Life In The Emotion of Fear or Do You Truly Trust That God Will Do What He Said He Would Do?

God's love is unending and unchanging.   God is faithful and He is just.   God is God all by Himself and yet we still fail to trust Him.   What will it take for you to be able to trust God completely and totally?   He has already done signs, miracles, and wonders in your life and yet the thoughts of doubt and fear continue to take over your walk of faith.

God wants us to trust Him.   He wants us to take Him at His Word and He wants us to believe that He will do just what He said He would do.    Understand, faith is not easy.   Trusting someone with your "whole" life is not easy but who better to trust than the one who created you.   Not only did He create you, He also created everything around you.    God holds this whole world in His hands.

Fear is an emotion and the root of fear is the belief that someone or something is going to harm you.   What is it in this world that is bigger than, stronger than, and more powerful than God?   NOTHING!     You have to override the emotion of fear with faith.   Faith says you have total trust and confidence in God despite what you see.     Faith believe that God can and that God will do what He has promised to do in you, for you, and through you.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Mark 11:22-24

King James Version (KJV)

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them

What Is Your Reaction To The Weariness That Is Trying To Take Over Your Life?

What do you do when you are tired?   Do you rest?  Do you wait?  Do you give up?   Do you quit?  What is your reaction to the weariness that is trying to take over your life?

We have to learn how to rest.   To rest means to cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength.  Think about it, God wants us to rest in Him.   He wants us to cease from our own work and refresh ourselves in His Word so that we can recover our strength.

The Bible tells us to be strong in Lord and in the power of His might.   It didn't tell us to be strong all by ourselves and yet that is what we try to do.   We try to do things on our own.   We try to figure out things on our own.   We try to make a way on our own.   We have to understand, God DID NOT leave us alone.    We belong to Him and He is our source.   We have to trust Him to strengthen us and to take care of us.    We have to start resting in Him and trusting that He will do exactly what He said He would do.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Psalm 37:7

King James Version (KJV)

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Do You Believe That God Is Going To Work It All Together For Your Good? You Are God's Light In The Midst Of All The Darkness That Life May Bring.

Are you recognizing the fact that God placed you where He wanted you to be?   He placed you in the family that He wanted you to be in.   It may not be perfect but He is still doing a perfect work in you.   You are His light and in the midst of your family drama, God has called you to shine.

We have to understand that no family is perfect.   Look at Joseph.   His brothers hated him and were jealous of him.  They put him into a pit and sold him into slavery.   They did everything within their power to get rid of him and yet God kept him, sustained him, and prepared him to help deliver his brothers that hated him.

We have to realize that God does not make mistakes.   He knows what He is doing and He will keep us and use our testimonies for His glory.     So know that your family is not a mistake, your job is not a mistake, and your life is not a mistake.   Remember, God said that He is working everything together for your good.    You just have to keep your trust in God even when you don't understand everything that you are going through.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Romans 8:28

 King James Version (KJV)

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

Learning How To Trust God No Matter What We Encounter In Life

What is holding you back?   What is keeping you from going all the way with God?   Is it people?   Is it things?   Is it a lack of trust or a heart of disbelief?   What is it?   God is calling You and He is waiting to see if You will be willing and obedient enough to answer His call.

In life we always look at the timing of things.  We even try to determine the time for everything.   We determine when we want to get up.   Have you ever just kept waking up through the night?   Did you ever think it was God unctioning you to get up and pray for the day ahead or for the people that He has placed in your circle of influence?

We also try to determine what we need and when we need it.   We have to start taking into account that times and seasons are in God's hands.   We know that God is in control of the timing of all things because He is the Creator of all things, it will lessen our disappointment when things don't happen when we want and when we expect them to.    Things happen when God has ordained them to.

We have to make up in our mind that we are going all the way with God no matter what obstacles we encounter in life.   We have to determine that no matter how long it takes, we are going to trust God and wait on God to bring to pass what we have need of in our lives.    We have to always remember that, God is God.   He knows all things and He has a plan in place to meet every need of our lives.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Isaiah 46:9-10

 King James Version (KJV)

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

What Do You Do When You Are Not Sure What To Do?

In the midst of all the trials that come with life, what do you do when you don’t know what to do?   Do you quit?   Do you give in?   Do you...
