How often does God do the miraculous in your life and you turn right around and doubt Him to do whatever else is needed? We have to learn how to walk in continued trust in God. We have to know that doubt and fear will come but we have to choose to continue to trust God despite the appearance of our situations.
Take a moment to think about Jesus and the disciples. Jesus blessed five loaves and two fish and fed over 5,000 people. After doing so, He sent His disciples to get into a ship and to go to the other side before Him while He sent the multitude away. But while they were in the ship they began to fear because of the wind and the waves. We have to know when God tells us to do something, we are to fear not when the winds and waves of life come up against us. Not only did they fear about the wind and the waves, when Jesus began to come to them by walking on the water, they were fearful again. We have to know that God is not limited on how He will come and deliver us. We just have to know that He will.
Understand today, that walking in faith means casting down fear. Nothing in heaven or earth can override the power of God. He can take our little and multiply it beyond measure, He can deliver us from the storms of life, and He can come to us in ways we never thought possible.
SCRIPTURE MEDITATION
Matthew 14:15-27
And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children. And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
