Asking God To Help Us To Make The Right Choices In Life

What seems simple can sometimes prove to be very hard.   Life is not always easy.   It's not always easy to make the "right" choice because making the right choice will always cost you something.    Making the right choice will put a demand on your flesh.    It will remain that you lean not to your own understanding and it will require you to acknowledge God in all your ways so that He can lead your path.      Making the right choice is not easy.

What do you do when you are faced with choices in life?   Do you make choices based on how easy it is?    Do you make choices based on what others want you to do or do you make choices based on what God said for you to do?    The outcome of everything that we have in life is based on a choice we make in life.

Remember, God's Word tells us to choose who and what we will serve.   We have to remember that our heart deviseth a way but we have to allow God and His Word to lead us in the way that we should go.     We have to follow those things that are true, right, and honest and bind up and cast down our desire for the things that are not.   We have to also remember that God is with us and He will strengthen us and help us to make the right choices if we ask Him to.    God didn't leave us alone to choose.   He said that He is with us always.   He said that He will help us  in any way that we need Him to.   Understand, any way means He will help us to make the right decision in life too.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

When You Go To Work Each Day You Control Your Flesh and Tell It What It Will Do. Are You Doing The Same When It Comes To The Things Of God?

What is it that God has called you to do?   Are you doing it or are you avoiding it?   Are you telling others the Good News or are you allowing others to be infiltrated by the news that the world is telling?   Are you being a candle for the Lord or are you allowing your light to be blown out by the way you act in life?

We have to know who we are called to be and we have to be who and what God has called us to be.   We have to understand that our blessings are connected to our obedience.   God said if we are willing and obedient we shall eat the good of the land.   He said that we are to trust and to obey.    He wants us to keep His commandments and His statutes for this is one way that we show that we love Him.

Trusting God is not easy but yet God said if we trust Him and obey Him, He will be our God.    If we as employees can be obedient to our employer by taking control of the flesh, by getting up out of bed, by getting to work on time, and fulfilling the tasks that they ask of us without murmuring and complaining, how much more should we be able to take control of our flesh, get up and give time to God, and do the things He asks of us.   After all, He is the giver of life and every good thing that comes with life (even our jobs).

It's time to take God at His Word and walk in obedience to that Word.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Jeremiah 42:6

Whether it is pleasant or unpleasant, we will listen to the voice of the Lord our God to whom we are sending you, so that it may go well with us when we listen to the voice of the Lord our God.”

Are You Walking In Intermittent Faith or Do You Believe and Trust God No Matter What?

Do you feel as though you have been doing everything right?   Do you feel like you have prayed, you have tithed, you have served, and yet you are not experiencing the breakthrough you thought you would have by now?    You have to know that after you have done all of that, you still have to wait and maintain your faith in God.    You still have to trust Him to do what He said He would do.   No matter what is going on in your life, God wants you to believe Him and to trust Him to take care of you.

You have to know that trust is continual or should I say continuous.   When something is continuous, there are no intermissions.   So often in our faith walk we walk in intermittent faith.   Where we start off believing and trusting God and then we stop believing and trusting God because it's not happening fast enough and then we go back to saying we believe and trust God.   WE HAVE TO HAVE CONTINUOUS FAITH AND TRUST IN GOD!  Our faith can not just be heard in our words, it has to be seen in our actions too.

Do you trust God and His Word?   If your answer is yes, believe Him when He says He knows the things you have need of and He is faithful and just to provide you with those things.   Believe Him when He says that He is the Lord God that heals.   Believe that He will open up the window of heaven and to pour you out a blessing.   Believe that He will maintain everything that He has given you.   Believe Him and trust Him to do whatever needs to be done in your life.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Are You Allowing The Situations In Your Life To Push You To The Point That You Fail To Stay On The Right Path For Your Life?

The devil wants to stop you. That is his sole purpose. He wants to interrupt God's plan for your life. Will you let him? Will you follow him or will you follow God? Understand, your can't go left, right, and forward at the same time. You have to choose which direction you are going to go. Will you choose to go forward with God or will you choose to go astray. When you go astray, you are choosing to go away from the correct path or direction.

You may be saying, how do you know which way is right and the answer is simple. God's way is the right way. His path is the righteous path. He said that He would make known to us the path of life. He said that the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn. So there is light for us to see on the path that is right for us to walk on in life.

Understand, situations will come up in life that are meant to push you down and to push you off track but you must remain steadfast and unmovable. You must always remember that the direction you must go in is the direction that is led by God and His Word.

Are You Allowing Your Current Situation To Steal Your Faith and Cause You To Walk In Fear?

What is it that you need God to do for you today?   Have you went to Him and asked Him for help?   Do you have faith and trust in Him and His Word?   Do you believe that He will do what He said He would do?

So often in life we dwell on what we are going through and we do not put our focus on the one who can bring us through.   We have to learn how to keep our hearts and minds stayed on God.   We have to learn how to acknowledge Him not matter which way our lives seem to be going.  We have to stay focused on what He said in His Word and we have to have faith and trust in that Word.    If God said He would heal us (which He did), we have to believe that He will.   If God said that He would provide for us (which He did), we have to trust that He will bring forth whatever it is we have need of.    We have to take God at His Word.

We have to stop allowing our current situation or circumstance to steal our faith.   We have to remain faithful or should I say full of faith.   We have to learn how to patiently wait on the Lord and we have to truly believe that God is working everything in our lives together for our good and His glory.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Are You Still Serious About The Things Of God Even In The Midst Of A Pandemic?

What happens when you don't do what you know to do?   What happens when you don't pray?   What happens when you disobey God's Word?   What happens?   Sometimes you can see periodic blessings but they won't be the consistent continual blessings of God that you could and should have upon your life.   God said in His Word to be willing and obedient and YOU SHALL eat the good of the land.

It's time to be serious about the things of God.   It's time to do ALL that He has called you to do.   It's time to sacrifice your time for God.    Prior to Covid, everyone used to sacrifice Sunday morning to go to the church building and to spend time worshipping, praising, and listening to a sermon about God, His plan, and His purpose in the earth.   That was prior to Covid.   Some churches are still having in-person services but it is limited.    Now with Covid, some are still going to the church building and some are watching online but what else are you doing for God?   Have you come to the realization that you are God's tabernacle?   How are you allowing God to use your life for His purpose so that He can get the glory out of your life?

Yes, it is hard to do a lot of physical outreaches and things of that nature during this time.   But are you taking time to use the outlets you have to still lift up His name?   Are you posting the Word on your social media in order to encourage others that may be struggling with life?  Are you picking up the phone and talking to family and friends and encouraging them to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might?   On the occasions when you do get out, are you allowing your voice to be used for God's purpose or are you murmuring and complaining about everything that is wrong in the world?   We have to know that even in the midst of this pandemic, we can still pray and encourage others.   We can still give and help others.   We can still be the light that God has called us to be in this world that is filled with so much darkness.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

1 Peter 2:9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;

Where Is Your Trust? Is It In What You Can Do or Is It In God?

Where is your trust?   Is your trust in what you can do or is it in God?    God sees all, He knows all, and He can do all things.   We can't.    We can't see the future and we don't know what will happen next in our lives.    So our trust should not be in our own ability.   It should be in God's ability and His Word.

God has told us in His Word not only what He can do but He has told us what He will do if we keep our faith in Him.   He has said that He will watch over His Word to perform it in our lives.    His faithfulness is seen throughout the Bible and we have to rest in the fact that He changes not.   If He took care of His children in biblical days, we have to know that He will take care of us now.

As you go through your day today remember, God is trustworthy.    He is worthy of our trust.   Not only is He trustworthy, He is faithful, just, and kind.    He loves us and He sacrificed His Son for us.    His love for us is real and He will honor His Word in our lives.

Proverbs 28:26

He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

Are You Resting In God and Expecting Him To Move On Your Behalf?

There may be times in your life when you feel helpless and you feel hopeless.   What do you do when you encounter those times?   Do you run to God or do you run from God?   Running to God will give you strength and running from God will cause you to become weaker because at that point you are trying to do everything in your own strength.

Jesus said in the New Testament to come to Him.   All that are weary and heavy laden, He has told to come so that He can give them rest.    We have to know how to go to God and we have to be ready and willing to lay our burdens down.

Understand, helplessness and hopelessness is not of God.   He is our help and our hope is in Him.    He is our strong tower.   He is not only our source, He is our resource.   Everything we need is found in God so when we have a need we should be running to Him and we have to trust what His Word says when He says He knows the things we have need of and He is faithful and just to provide us with those things.

Trust God to do what only He can do.   Rest in Him and expect Him to move on your behalf.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Matthew 11:28

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

Are You Looking At Life From A Low Point Of View or From God's Point Of View?

What is your view point?   In other words, what is the point of reference you are viewing your situation from?    Are you viewing your need for healing from God's point of view?  God not only sees you as healed, He told you in His Word that He is the Lord God that heals you.    What about lack?    Are you looking from God's point of view and basing your belief on what He said?    He is the All-Sufficient God! He is more than enough and He said that He knows the things you have need of and He is faithful and just to supply you with those things.

So often in life we see our lives from a low point of view.   We look at situations from our downward fall instead of rising up with God and seeing ourselves as He sees us.   It's time to stop having a low point of view.   It's time to see what God sees and it's time to say what God has said.   It's time to rise up and to let God be our point of reference.

A point of reference is a benchmark.   It is used to help you judge and to understand situations.    If we use God and His Word as our point of reference, we will begin to see our situations from His point of view and we will begin to understand that our tests will soon be our testimonies and it is with our testimony we are well able to help others on this journey called life.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Are You Allowing Your Heart and Mind To Be Troubled or Are You Casting Your Cares and Fears On God?

What is it that is hard for you today?   What has your mind wandering and what has you walking in fear?   Whatever it is, it's time to bind it up and cast it down.   God's Word tells us over and over again to not be afraid.   It says to fear not.   It tells us to let not our hearts be troubled and it tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear and yet, situations sometimes catch us off guard and fear comes in and tries to infiltrate our lives.

Take a moment today to speak God's Word over your own life.   Make the confession that you will not be afraid.   Say with your own mouth that fear shall have no control over your life.    Believe in your heart and your mind that if you speak it, so shall it be.    Believe that God is watching over His Word to perform it for you, in you, and through you.

Life is not always easy and living in a place where your faith overrides your fear is not always an easy thing to do but we have to live our lives based on what God said and that is not always in line with what we see in the natural.   We have to live in expectancy.   Expecting the change we need to come forth from the spiritual realm into the natural realm.    We have to live knowing that what we can't control, God can and we have to know that He is working every situation in our lives together for our good and His glory.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

1 Peter 5:7

“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

We Get To Choose What We Believe and How We Respond. If You Remember What God Has Done, Let It Fuel Your Faith For What You Need Him To Do!

Are you willing to let God be God?   Are you willing to let Him take the leading role in your life?   Are you willing to surrender and to submit?   It all starts with willingness.   When you are willing to do something, you accept doing it by choice and you are not reluctant.   God wants us to be "willing and obedient" so that we can eat the good of the land.

Life will always present to us choices.   We have to choose right from wrong.   We have the blessed ability to make choices in life about what we want to do with our lives.   Even when things don't go the way we plan or want them to go, we still have the ability to choose how we respond to those situations.    We can choose to continue to trust and believe that God will honor His Word in our lives despite what we see.   We get to choose to believe that He is working everything in our lives together for our good and His glory.    We choose what we believe and we choose how we respond.

As you walk out each and every day in life, walk it out knowing that God is God all by Himself.   Walk it out knowing that He will never leave you and He will never forsake you.   Walk it out  remembering what God has done and let that remembrance fuel your faith for what you need Him to do.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Mark 11:22-26

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Are You Keeping Your Shield Of Faith Up So That You Can Quench The Fiery Darts Of The Wicked?

Are you wading in the water of what someone else has done to you?   Are you angry, mad, depressed, or overwhelmed with the emotions of what "they did"?    If so, it's time to rise up out of it.   People choose to do wrong and the wrong that people do sometimes is directed directly towards you.   But you have to choose to not let what people do to you control how you respond.

If you serve God, there is a target on your life.   A target is a marked surface that is aimed or fired at.   As a servant of God, the enemy sees the mark that has been placed on your life and his sole ambition is to aim and fire at you so that he can hit you in areas that will hurt.   Areas that will hurt you emotionally.   Areas that will hurt you financially.   Areas that will hurt you physically.    The Bible tells us about the fiery darts of the wicked and we are to quench those fiery darts with our shield of faith.   Understand, that our faith has to remain in God despite the fiery darts that are aimed at our lives.

So today, make it a point to let it go.   Let go of the anger and the disappointment you may have in people because of what they did to you or against you.   The devil will use any willing vessel but it is still his tactic.    Know that you are shielded by faith and protected by the Father.

SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

Ephesians 6:16

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

What Do You Do When You Are Not Sure What To Do?

In the midst of all the trials that come with life, what do you do when you don’t know what to do?   Do you quit?   Do you give in?   Do you...
