Are you willing to let bygones be bygones? A bygone is something that happened previously. It is something from the past. Are you holding on to the things you should have said "bye and be gone" to? We have to learn the art of release.
Releasing can be a very hard thing to do. When you release something, you let it go. You allow something or someone to escape from confinement. Did you know that you can imprison people by your actions towards them? What are you holding in confinement in your heart and in your mind that you need to let go of? What thoughts are ruling, reigning, and dominating your thought process? Your thought process is the way in which your mind works or should I say the way you think about a thing? We have to know how to filter our thoughts through the filter of God's love and His forgiveness. If you don't filter your thoughts through God's love and forgiveness, things will get through your mind, touch your heart, and come out of your mouth or out as actions that are not in alignment with God's Word, His will, or His way.
Learn how to say bye and be gone to things that have hurt you in the past. Learn how to let the love of God rule and reign. Think about God's love and forgiveness towards you as thoughts come into your mind about what others have done to you. Remember how the power of the blood saved, cleansed, and forgave you and know that that same blood is a covering for others too. Remember, the Word says for us to cast down every thought and imagination that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Knowledge tells us that we are to imitate who and what God is. God is love and He is a God of forgiveness. So when thoughts come up in our minds that don't reflect the love and the forgiveness of God towards others, we should be casting those thoughts down.
SCRIPTURE MEDITATION
Philippians 3:13-14
King James Version
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
