Let's Get Back To Eden

Eden....A Place of Pleasure & Delight.    A Place of Peace.   A Place of Communion With God.   God created a physical dewelling place that was a place of pleasure, delight, peace and communion with Him.    He wants us to get back to that place spiritually.   The thing is, sin has no place in the garden.   Sin always results in separation from God.   Just as Adam and Eve had a choice to partake from the tree of life or the tree of the knowledge of good and evil .... we still have the same choice today.  Knowledge is gained through experience.   So you can gain knowledge of good and evil, by experiencing both.  The question is, do we choose to dwell in the presence of God and commune with Him and partake of His word or do we choose to step outside of the boundaries of Eden and partake of what the world has to offer?   The things which God has already told us not to choose.

The same choice that Adam and Eve had in the garden, you still have today.   Will you have to hide because of the choices you make or will you be able to freely walk in the presence of God?

Proverbs 14: 11-13(The Message Bible) - 11 Lives of careless wrongdoing are tumbledown shacks;
holy living builds soaring cathedrals.

12-13 There's a way of life that looks harmless enough;
look again—it leads straight to hell.
Sure, those people appear to be having a good time,
but all that laughter will end in heartbreak.
Proverbs 14 in its entirety is an awesome read. It gives the direct consequence of each wise and unwise decision that we are often faced with in our lives. Let us choose the wiser...

Often times, we say that following God is hard; or, that always doing the right thing or making the right decision is hard. Yet, I wonder, is it really that hard or would we rather rely on our own ability to make decisions based on our earthly knowledge and fleshly desires. I say "we" because "we" (myself included) have often and will find ourselves faced with decisions, even the ones that we make eveyday that come as second nature to us...the ones that seem to be so insignificant...that could result in a negative consequense. Remember, wisdom chooses to do TODAY what it will be happy with TOMORROW. Choosing wisely leaves no room for regret.

14 "So now: Fear God. Worship him in total commitment. Get rid of the gods your ancestors worshiped on the far side of The River (the Euphrates) and in Egypt. You, worship God.

15 "If you decide that it's a bad thing to worship God, then choose a god you'd rather serve—and do it today. Choose one of the gods your ancestors worshiped from the country beyond The River, or one of the gods of the Amorites, on whose land you're now living. As for me and my family, we'll worship God."

This is what Joshua said to the people after God had him to remind the people of all that he had done for them AND their ancestors. Have you reflected on what God has done for you AND your loved ones that blessed you, brought victory to your life.... Think about it. Then, "...choose ye this day who you will serve..."
