When you think about gladiators, you think about ancient Rome. In ancient Rome gladiator fights were very popular. Gladiator fights began to die off with the coming of Christianity. In ancient Rome the winner of the fights were rewarded with palm branches upon their victory. Understand palm branch represented victory and triumph. Remember palm branches were waved also at the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Signifying victory once and for all.
You have to know that you are a gladiator for Christ and the victory has already been won once and for all for you. The fight you are fighting is just to show those around you that the battle has been won. Your life is their example. Unfortunately some won't believe unless they see. So you are the vessel that they are seeing God bring forth a victory in.
