What will you do? What will you do when family and friends come against you? What will you do when they talk about you and turn their back on you? Will you talk about them too or will you surrender it all to God? Will you go head on head with them or will you be still and "quiet" and know that God is fighting your battle for you? What will you do?
So often in life we feel as though we have to come to our own defense. We feel as though we have to say something in response to what others are saying. Yes, we need to uproot the words and the works of the enemy but we can do that through prayer. We don't have to retaliate when the enemy is speaking out against us. Remember, the enemy will use any willing vessel and we always have to remember that we are not fighting against flesh and blood but agains principalities, powers, and the rulers of darkness.
Don't get into battles with people. Don't allow their words to control your actions. Just be still and pray. Pray knowing that God is your defender and He is your defense. When someone or something defends you, it protects you from harm and danger. The enemy can say things about you and try to do things to you but he cannot harm you because God is your shield and your buckler. He is always present in the time of trouble and He will take care of you.
SCRIPTURE MEDITATION
Deuteronomy 20
King James Version (KJV)
20 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,
3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;
4 For the Lord your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.
