Are You Allowing Yourself To Be Saturated By The Word Of God?

Are you allowing God's word to take rest in you?   To fill  you?   To refresh you?    So often we run on empty.   We run around seeking a word.   Seeking direction.   Seeking peace.   We read the Bible but we never let what we read settle within us.   We are quick to move on to the next thing.   The next scripture and the next word.    We have to learn how to allow the word to take rest in us.   In our hearts, in our minds, and in our situations.

Understand that the word can never become completely real to you until you allow it to become a part of who you are.    There is a difference in reading and meditating.   So often we read ... yet we fail to meditate.    To meditate means to think deeply and carefully about something.    It means to contemplate, ponder, and reflect.    We have to get to a place where we begin to soak in God's word.   When you soak in something ... you become immersed in it and you get saturated with it.

Make it a point to become saturated in and with the word of God.   Make it a point for the word to become a distinct part of who you are.    When we read without meditating on what we read  .... it is like applying the word to the surface of our lives.   Things on the surface can easily be washed away.   However, when we meditate ... the word becomes ingrained in our spirits.   When something is ingrained, it is deeply embedded and difficult to move.    That is how God's word should be in our lives.
