When a person is burned out, they are tired, they lose
interest, and they are frustrated. Burnout
can cause a person to go into a place of depression. It’s hard to do anything when you are
burned out, especially worship. Understand,
God does not want you burnt out. He
doesn’t want you tired and frustrated.
He wants you to recognize and understand that you are full of His vigor
and His strength. He wants you to
understand that when you are weak, He is strong.
When a person loses hope, they lose their interest. They abandon their belief. Don’t allow weariness to cause you to
abandon your belief in God and His Word.
Sometimes the process of waiting can seem very long. However, your hope and trust has to be in the
fact that God knows all and He is able to make “His grace” abound towards
you. God’s grace is His undeserved
favor. It’s not based on anything that
we have done or can do. So don’t get
burned out trying to earn God’s grace.
Stay in a place of rest and worship and allow God to do “in you and
through you” what He desires to do.
“Father help us to recognize that it is in You that we live,
breathe, and have our being. Father
help us to stay focused on You. To obey
Your Word and to do Your will. Father
we yield to You right now. We give You
the right-of-way. The right to have Your
way in our lives right now. Father
forgive us for trying to do things in our own strength. For we know that You are the strength of our
lives. Forgive us for trying to hold on
to those things that You have already told us to release. Father we ask right now that You take the
leading role. That You lead us, guide
us, and direct us in the way that You would have us to go. Father we give the reigns of our lives
completely and totally to You. We
thank You for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Now Father we surrender completely by
letting go of all the things we have tried so hard to hold on to. Father we ask that You use our lives for
Your glory in Jesus name. Amen”
