If You Need To Boast....Boast In This.....

It's not about you.   What you like about you.   How well you do the things you do.   It's never about you.    It's all about God.   About exemplifying and glorifying who He is and what He has done.

We get confused.   We get caught up on promotion.   On elevation.   On how well we can do certain things and we tend to brag on those things.   One question.....how is God being glorified in our bragging?  Where is He getting the glory?

We tend to brag on everything but Him.   We brag on the house....we brag on the car....we brag on the children....the grandchildren.   But when do we brag on God?

Bragging means to be boastful.  Full of pride.   The problem is our boastfulness always seems to be self directed instead of God directed.   Our self confidence needs to be God confidence.   We have to understand that we would have no achievements without God's blessings.    Our homes......if God had not chosen us .... we could be homeless.   Cars and material possessions are just that.

We have to begin to understand that the only thing we have to boast about is our relationship with God.   We can be confident in that "one thing".    Everything else carries within it the ability to pass away.   It is only God that remains no matter what.

So if you have a need to be boastful today.....to brag......

Then tell somebody about the one thing in your life that is unending and unchanging.   Tell someone about the God who keeps you and delivers you.   Tell someone about Jehovah.   El Shaddai.   Elohim.  The God who is all powerful and all mighty.....who moves and manifests in your circumstances to work everything out for your good.    

The one thing that you have a right to boast about......is God......
