Reliant means that you have faith, confidence, and trust. It means that you are "dependent" on someone or something. To know that everything is "contingent" on that someone or something else. You have to understand that contingency is conditional. When you put your life into perspective you have to see that everything you are and everything you desire to be is all "contingent" on who God is to you.
We have to trust and we have to believe....but beyond that.....we have to become dependent upon Him. So many people don't take into account that they could be or do nothing without Him. Or should I say they don't give Him recognition for who He is in their life. Unfortunately, beyond recognition they fail to validate who He is and what He has done for them, in them, and through them. When we fail to give recognition where recognition is due......it is because we desire to be seen. We desire the recognition. It is the part of "self" that wants to be seen.
What are you affirming today? To affirm means to support and uphold. To confirm. Are you making an affirmation of who God is or are you seeking recognition for who you are? It is funny how we say we don't worry about the opinions of man.....yet we get upset when they fail to recognize us.
What you have to begin to understand is that the recognition of man is based on opinion. An opinion is a belief that someone has .... but it is not necessarily supported by knowledge. Whereas God is not opinionated. Everything that He says and everything that He does is based on knowledge. He knows you. He created you. So when He affirms you .... supports and upholds you .... it is because He knows who you from the inside out. He knows what you have done and will do. He knows your ability and He knows your potential.
It's time we move from the place of wanting the recognition of man into the place of seeking the affirmation of God.
