How are you looking at your covenant with God? Are you looking at it in a way to where you are holding God accountable for what He said He would do? How about you? Are you considering the fact that your faith and your obedience are both parts of your agreement with God that have to be enforced by you?
An agreement is between two or more parties and each party must fulfill obligations for the agreement to be enforced. God has obligated Himself to watch over you, to shield you, to protect you, to heal you, to deliver you, and to provide for you. He just asks that you have faith, repent, confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and be baptized.
You have to understand that walking in faith causes you to believe in what you cannot see with your natural eyes. Faith says that you trust God no matter what. When you repent to God, it says to God that you know you have done wrong and you ask God for forgiveness and you do an about-face on sin and you do your best to live in a way that is not sinful. When you confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you ask Him into your life and you ask Him to be the Lord of your life. You surrender to His leading and you allow Him to be your Lord. Then there is baptism. Understand, baptism represents death, burial, and resurrection. God wants us to die to our old selves and to bury the old man so that we can be resurrected with Him. As you think about resurrection, think about rising up from the ashes of life and moving forward with God.
