Lack or Sufficiency....What Do You See?

Can you see your sufficiency .... even when it looks like lack?   Jesus asked Phillip in John 6, where should He buy food for the multitude to eat.   Phillip answered that two hundred penneyworth of bread was not sufficient.

Jesus NEVER asked if they had enough to buy the bread......He just asked where should they buy the bread.   That is how we do God.   God tells us to do something or He places us somewhere and we consistently look at what we see as lack.   When God is just saying.....do what I told you to do and I will supply the need.

Although Andrew's response to Jesus was that he saw a lad with five loaves of bread and two fish.   He still didn't see the supply as enough.   How many times to we look at what we have and say "it's not enough"?

We are real good at looking at life through our natural eyes  instead of eyes of faith.   We need to shift.   We need to look at the supply we have as just enough.    Jesus' response to Andrew was to make the men sit down (get everything in order) and He gave thanks for what He had.  At that point, what He had became sufficient.

So the word to  you today is to see beyond your lack and thank God for what you have.   At the point that you give thanks, God will intervene and make sure you have more than enough.   It's not about what you can get with what you have.   It's all about what God will do when you give thanks for what you have.
