Are you living holy? Righteous? Telling the world about Him? Are you being obedient to what He is telling you to do? We don't just give our children things because they want them. We wait and we watch to see how they are going to act. What will their actions be? Will they listen? Or will they choose to continue to misbehave while they are expressing to us the things they want and desire in their lives.
Understand today that God is our Father. He is waiting on us to walk in obedience to His word. He is watching to see how we handle the gifts that He has already poured out upon our lives. He is watching to see if we are thankful and appreciative for what we do have. He wants to see if we will come to Him....our loving Father.....or go to someone else outside of Him to pursue and get the things we want. How often do children ask others (whether it be aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc) for things when you tell them no? That's how we do God. When He doesn't answer our prayers right away .... we seek alternatives. But what we have to understand is the word alternative means substitute. There is no substitute for God. God is.....and there is nothing or no one that can replace who He is.
Take a moment and step back. Learn how to wait on God. How to trust that your Father knows best. He knows how to take care of you. He knows what is needed for your life and exactly when its needed. Stop seeking alternatives to God. Understand that the root word for alternative is alternate. It means to fluctuate. To interchange patterns. It means to shift back and forth. STOP SHIFTING. Stay in place and learn how to wait on God.
