Are You Reacting or Responding?

What is going on in your silence?   Silence is a period of time where you are still.   Where you are not making any noise.   It is a time of supression.   It is a time where you act deliberately.   However, you can be silent and not say anything and  your reactions still speak out on your behalf.

A major problem with silence is that others don't know what's going on or why you are being that way.   Silence can be good and silence can be bad.    If your silence is a result of hurt, anger, and confusion......you have to begin to weigh whether it is good or bad.    If it is a result of waiting on God .... his direction .... before you speak....then it is always good to be silent but you still have to be aware of how your reactions are affecting those around you.

A lot of times what we speak and how we say it is a result of what is going on in our lives at that moment.   We act and react based on how we feel (our emotions).    We have to learn how to be silent.   How to wait.   How to "respond" with  direction and not just operate based on our emotions    In life, we tend to react "in" situations rather than wait and respond "to" situations.

When you react.....there is very little thought put in what you are doing and what you are saying.   You are going based on the situation at that moment.   Whereas with a response....the answer can be automatic or well thought out.   It is not necessarily based on what you think or how you feel.  It should be based on what you believe    We have to start giving responses rather than reactions.     We have to start living based on what we believe rather than how we feel.

What people feel and what they see is usually based on your reaction.   However, your response far outweighs your reaction.   Your response is the answer to what is happening.   To what is going on.   To what is.   How you are feeling and how situations and circumstances have affected your life.   Whether it be a medical report, what someone has done, the bills, the job, etc.  Your response solidifies your actions and your outcome.    Responses are based on what you believe, whereas, reactions are based on how you feel.  The question is do you believe God?  If so, you need to get to a place where your response always points back to your trust and belief in Him.

We have to stop living in the "moment" and start living in the "life".   The life of Christ.   Allow Christ ... who He is and what He has done ..... to dictate your responses in life.

What Do You Do When You Are Not Sure What To Do?

In the midst of all the trials that come with life, what do you do when you don’t know what to do?   Do you quit?   Do you give in?   Do you...
